Our video takes many ideas and inspiration from this video. The style is dark, bleak and somewhat post-apocalyptic. The entire video revolves around one main protagonist, with only appearances from other characters - something we plan to implement in or video. The overall finish of the video isn't too different to what we want to acheive. Its black and white finish gives this video its sense of place and tone. We are also planning on having the majority of our video desaturated to give the same tone. However, this video ( especially when compared to song pace ) is quite slowly cut and edited. We have veiw to make our editing much faster paced. We also like the Manic elements this video shows through the main character, and his surroundings. Our video has a large psychological theme involved and we want to show this not only through character actions, but surroundings also. In this videos he toy soldiers stuck onto a vertical wall, and the constant reference to the insect ( invaders ) sow his manic side - we want some way of showing this also. This music video is also quite open to interpretation. It keeps you engaged but never really explains what is happening. It constantly suggests the lyrics are related to the video - the insect / invaders theme - but you can come to your own conclusions as to what is happening. We plan to take on this element ourselves, almost as a central theme. We don't want to force an absolute story or concept on the audience, but for them to decide for themselves the messages of the video.
